Catholic Central Crusaders are LDA, WOSSAA and OFSAA Football Champions
The Catholic Central Crusaders Senior Football team captured the OFSAA Western Bowl title winning 40 – 7 against the St. Peter’s Knights from Ottawa. Their OFSAA win completed an undefeated 11 – 0 season. On the road to OFSAA, they defeated the Lucas Vikings 18 – 6 at WOSSAA and the St. Thomas Aquinas Flames 38 – 9 in the LDA Final. Spartans are Champions in AA Girls LDA Basketball
The Mother Teresa Spartans came out on top with a hard fought 39 -33 win over the St Thomas Aquinas Flames in AA Senior Girls Basketball play at Bud Gardens.
Wildcats win TVDSB Central Girls Basketball Championship
Westminster and North Middlesex played in the first senior girls basketball championship held at Bud Gardens. The Wildcats played a solid game defeating the Marauders 57-31 in the TVDSB A Final.
Medway wins TVRA Field Hockey Championship
Medway defeated Parkside 2-1 at City Wide Fields on Thursday to capture the TVRA Field Hockey Championship. Both teams qualified for WOSSAA based on their semi-final wins earlier in the day.
STA wins TVRA Central Girls Golf Championship
The Flames Girls’ Golf team captured the first official TVRA championship of the 2015-16 athletic season, winning the TVRA Central team title at The Dorchester on the Thames Golf Course. Members of the team include J.J. Sparling, Alyssa Burgess and Payton Sparling. The Flames are coached by Janet Read.
Jackson Bowery of Laurier defends golf title in a playoff
Laurier Rams golfer Jackson Bowery defeated Jack Gilles of Saunders by sinking a 25 foot birdie putt on the first extra hole in TVRA Central Boys golf action on Thursday. Saunders wins TVRA Central Boys Golf Title
The Saunders Boys Golf Team won the TVRA Central Golf Championship on Thursday at Forest City National Golf Course. They won the team title by only two shots over the Laurier Rams. Fourteen teams and fifty-four golfers competed in the Championships. Members of the Sabres team are Matt McGhee, Jack Gilles, Harrison McKeller and Cole Phillipson, along with coaches Pete McIntosh and Aron Sudicky.
