TVRA Girls Softball proudly recognizes the winners of the first ever “Ms. Softball” Awards and the graduating player awards for our South East and Central Division which are named after two influential female softball leaders in our community Amy Pitcher (South East) and Rebecca Goudy (Central).
For each division we awarded a “Ms.Softball” Award to the most outstanding player in their division, regardless of grade. These players demonstrate dedication to the sport and to their team, exceptional skill at their level, and demonstrate sportsmanship and leadership. These players have a significant impact on the overall performance and success of their team. The winner will have had the largest positive impact on the team on and off the field.
The “Rebecca Goudy” and “Amy Pitcher” Awards are given to the graduating player of each division who demonstrates a passion for softball, remarkable knowledge of the game and exceptional skill at any fielding position as well as hitting.
The Amy Pitcher Award is named after Amy Pitcher who has been instrumental in growing the sport of girls softball in Oxford County, particularly at Huron Park Secondary School, where she taught and coaches, as well as with the College Avenue Secondary School girls softball program. Amy has played an integral role in introducing many girl softball players to the sport over her career, including her own daughter who played at the Collegiate level in Ontario.
The Rebecca Goudy Award is named after Rebecca Goudy, head of the Lucan-Ilderton Softball Program, Western Mustangs Girls Softball Coach and pitching instructor with Softball Ontario’s CANpitch program. Becky has played an integral role in the growing popularity of girls softball in our area, has coached the Medway Cowboys high school team in their starting years as well as coaching many players from various teams in the league.
