In its inaugural season, TVRA Girls Fastpitch exceeded all expectations, marking a significant milestone in the region’s sports history. The league saw participation from 18 school teams, with over 225 girls getting the chance to experience organized softball. This remarkable turnout and enthusiastic involvement highlighted the growing interest and commitment to girls’ fastpitch in the area.
Strathroy District Collegiate emerged as the TVRA Central Champions, showcasing exceptional talent and teamwork. College Avenue made a resounding impact by securing the Southeast Championship and clinching the overall TVRA Championship. Their triumph over a formidable Ingersoll District Collegiate team, and an undefeated 8-0 season record, underscored their dominance.
The excitement and success of this season have set a high standard for future competitions, demonstrating the potential and passion for girls’ fastpitch in the TVRA region. Looking ahead, the Girls’ OFSAA Sanctioned Fastpitch Tournament will be held in Woodstock, ON, on Tuesday, June 11th. The TVRA region will be well represented with six of our schools competing for a provincial title, promising more thrilling moments and showcasing the exceptional talent in our community.
