Congratulations to Hannah Wedlake of CECI on being named the TVRA Southeast winner of the Ms. Basketball award for 2024. Here are some of her many basketball accomplishments throughout her outstanding high school career:
- Averaged 26.1 points, 8.2 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 3.5 steals per game this season
- Led CECI’s Senior Girls Basketball team to a 4-4 record
- Scored 60% of the team’s total points during the season
- Maintained a 50% shooting percentage overall and 30% from three-point range
- Demonstrated exceptional leadership both on and off the court
- A top player in St. Thomas’ club basketball circuit, competing in OBLX and OBAs
- Played for the U-17 AAU team in the Elgin-Middlesex region
Hannah’s performance this season has been exceptional. As the primary offensive weapon for the Titans, she averaged more than 26 points per game and was a consistent force on both ends of the court. Whether in the post or as a guard, she showed a versatility that made her difficult to defend. Hannah’s leadership on the court was equally as impactful. Despite facing tough defenses and being game-planned against, Hannah’s basketball IQ and unselfish playmaking ability stood out. Her sportsmanship was also widely praised by opponents, as she led by example both in attitude and performance.
Hannah has long been recognized as one of the top players in St. Thomas. This past year, she participated in various basketball camps, including Hoop Dreams and camps hosted by Manitoba and Winnipeg University. Recently, Hannah has been accepted into Brock University for the Sport Management program.
Hannah’s passion for the game and her impressive work ethic make her a standout player in the region. We look forward to seeing where her post-secondary and basketball career takes her next.
