WCI supports community in inaugural United in Sport event

On Thursday, September 19th, WCI hosted it’s first United In Sport day to raise money for United Way Oxford.  The day started with a Red Devil Pep Rally introducing all of our fall sports teams.  The auditorium was swarming with Red & White to witness WCI teams square-off against each other in some entertaining challenges.  Individuals also had the opportunity to partake in some of the fun to win prizes.

We then had a United In Sport – Spirit Game buyout.  In the morning, our senior girl’s basketball team played Dorchester and defeated them handily in a packed “Devil Dome”.  During the second half our double-header the senior boy’s volleyball team also handed the Beavers a decisive loss, winning three straight.

The day concluded with our annual outdoor dance, the Backyard Bash.  The turnout was incredible to celebrate this amazing day.  Proceeds totaling $3500, from the buyout and dance, was donated to United Way Oxford.  Great job Red Devils!
